2002 Red Edge Jacksons Vineyard Shiraz

Given that this wine is from Heathcote, and that the 2002 vintage was dry with good growing conditions (in spite of the drought) the wine does not deliver the power or concentration that is expected. Crimson mauve colour. Medium body. Lifted aroma of inky dark cherries, blackpepper, spice, liquorice and plum – a good start! Medium bodied with flavours of cherry and raspberry emerging. Fine dry tannins which are persistent. Cherry spice aftertaste.
