2002 Pikes The EWP Reserve Shiraz

This wine has been named after the patriarch of Pikes, Edgar Walker Pike and has had 2% Viognier added to it. Opaque black crimson colour with deep black brick red hue. Aroma of liquorice, spice, cedar and plum followed by stewed fruit and vanilla end notes. The palate has good weight, with the Viognier component making its presence felt. Flavours of apricot, blackberry and plum are evident. Fine, dry tannins. Aftertaste of spice, confectionary, plum, prune and vanilla.
