A superb example of Riesling. The 2002 vintage was the coolest and driest on record and reflects in the intensity of flavour of the wine. The fruit was picked in late March and early April. Croser regards this as the best vintage since the 1980. Pale water like colour with faint straw hue. Magnificent nose with aromas of rosepetal, followed by orange blossom and mandarin notes over layers of spice, lime and ripe pear. The palate expresses the concentration of the vintage perfectly. Fresh lively flavours of lime, citrus and early season mandarins. Excellent length and persistence of flavours. Crisp but balanced acid backbone followed by a long lime, orange blossom aftertaste.
