2002 Paul Osicka Heathcote Shiraz

A very impressive red. Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. The nose is big and flows with ripe notes of plum, followed by liquorice, leather and earth. The palate is best described as having that big ‘joosy’ Shiraz quality that is so sought after. Flavours of ripe plum and blackberry fill the mouth and are overlaid by nuances of leather and earth that persists through to the aftertaste. A little old fashioned perhaps, but an ‘honest’ Shiraz. Fine grained dry, perfectly balanced tannins.
