2002 Murdoch James Estate Syrah

A very sophisticated handling of Shiraz – flavour without the palate weight or muscle power of its Aussie cousins, none the less the wine displays stamina coupled with elegance. Very deep crimson purple colour, with mauve purple hue. Delicately perfumed nose, with aroma of violets, spice, leather and plum. The palate continues to reflect the elegance and refinement of the nose. Flavours of ripe plum, confectionary and spice are supported by fine, dry and persistent tannins which last well into the aftertaste.
