2002 Mitchell Grenache Sangiovese Mourvedre

Bright crimson colour with crimson hue.  Medium body.  Aroma of raspberry, leather and spice followed by a hint of plum and cherry.  The palate has a real ‘joosy’ quality with flavours of cherry, plum, spice and white pepper over a raspberry jam back palate.  Soft tannins.  Aftertaste of raspberry jam and white pepper.

First tasted, July 2005:
A very successful blend. Brick red colour with brick red crimson hue. Medium body. The nose is restrained at first, but evolves to reveal aromas of raspberry, followed by a touch of chocolate, plum and spice. The palate has good length and depth. Flavours of spice, raspberry and liquorice allsorts. Fine chalky tannins. Aftertaste of raspberry, liquorice and black cherry.
