The Liebich family have been growing grapes in the Barossa Valley since 1919. The vine was made from grapes aged between 15 and 34 years. The cropping levels were a miniscule ¾ to 2 tonnes per acre. Very deep crimson colour. Aroma of spice, prunes, dark chocolate and ripe plums. The palate flavour profile is less successful than the Shiraz, being a little overblown, and whilst it has weight it does not have great length or depth. Flavours of dark chocolate and spice are followed by a touch of white pepper on the back palate. Fine dry tannins. Aftertaste of dark chocolate and cherry ripe.
