Kirralaa is a product of the internationalisation of the Australian and American wine industry. The winemaking operation is a partnership between ROBERT MONDAVI of Napa Valley and ROSEMOUNT ESTATE. In Australia the name Kirralaa (meaning Star) was chosen, whilst in the Napa Valley Talomas (meaning wildcat) was used. The concept being that each of the winemaking teams was to work in the others country. From Australia PHILLIP SHAW and IAN SHEPARD were dispatched to make wines from grape growers in Santa Barbara, Mendocino and Monterey Counties, whilst TIM MONDAVI was to source grapes grown in McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley and Coonawarra. Time will tell if the project is a long term success, however, the Bush Vine Shiraz is a great start.
Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. The nose shows impressive intensity, with aroma of plum, spice, blackcurrant, aniseed and violets. The palate reflects the nose perfectly, with flavours of spice, black pepper and liquorice. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance followed by a very long aftertaste of white pepper, black pepper and liquorice. STOCKS ARE LIMITED!
