Totally opaque black purple colour with excellent cling to the glass walls. Superb nose of violet, spice and blackcurrant generating a perfumed lift. Mouthfilling palate with flavours of vanilla, liquorice, black pepper and spice generating a ‘joosy’ flavour profile. Fine, dry tannins, well balanced with long aftertaste of violet infusions, vanilla and blackberry.

Other Reviews….
From the Vine Vale sector of Barossa, the 2002 Shiraz Greens Vineyard (a single vineyard cropped at one ton of fruit per acre, and aged 30 months in 100% new French oak) tastes like blood of Shiraz. It is a meaty, dense, super-concentrated, extremely young, unevolved wine displaying loads of potential. An inky/purple color is followed by wonderful aromas of black and blue fruits interwoven with mineral, vanilla, and spice box characteristics. Enormously endowed, concentrated, young, and backward, with no harshness, it will be even better with an additional 2-3 years of bottle age, and should drink well for two decades.  This is one of the most brilliantly run wineries in Australia, and the quality of the entire portfolio is impressive thanks to the enviable talents of winemaker Kevin Mitchell ... also one of South Australia’s “good guys.”

Dense colour; powerful, savoury, dense black fruits and bitter chocolate on both bouquet and palate; massively intense and long but retains balance.Rating 96Drink 2020"James Halliday - 2007 Australian Wine Companion"
