2002 Kaesler Old Vine Riesling

Barossa Valley, South Australia, AUSTRALIA
$13. 99
Bottle
$167.88 Dozen
Closure: Cork
This is one Riesling that is recommended for the holiday fishing trip. Freshly caught whiting is the perfect match. The grapes for this aromatic wine came from a 35 year old vineyard located on the floor of the Barossa Valley. The clay soil structure forces the vines to work hard in order to achieve their maximum flavour profile. The fruit is machine harvested in the early hours of the morning ensuring that cool grapes arrive at the winery. A slow ferment of over 3 weeks takes place at temperatures between 10 -12°C.

Tasting Note: An outstanding Riesling. Brilliant straw colour. The nose displays classic Riesling notes of lime and spice over a floral background with orange blossom and lemon end notes. On the palate, the lemon flavour component overtakes the lime character. Generous palate weight with mouthfilling concentration, with a distinct lime aftertaste with crisp acid finish. Exceptional Value!
