Drinking magnificently now, this Shiraz showcases the outstanding qualities of the exceptional 2002 vintage.

The colour is holding up very well displaying an inky black core with a deep dark brick red black hue. Perfumed aromas of liquorice, dark plum and blackberries finely coated with dark chocolate captivate the senses followed by complexing notes of leather, earth, vanillin cedar and spice. Gloriously rich and opulent with the fruit showing no signs of fading, luscious flavours of liquorice, dark plums and ripe blackberries glide across the plushly textured palate like satin sheets overlaying some earthy vanillin oak, subtle leather and spice. The sweet round tannins perfectly integrated. Outstanding power and concentration, the finish exceptionally long filled with liquorice, dark plums, blackberries, earthy vanillin oak and spicy leather.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
Alc 15%

Other Reviews…
Replete with a label looking very much like the famed Woodley Treasure Chest series of the 1940s and '50s, this is the top end (after Ascent) of another virtual winery. It has an extra dimension of power, flooded with superb regional fruit and dark chocolate, with lingering but fine tannins.
