2002 Irvine Springhill Merlot

Bright brick red colour with brick red hue. Medium body. The nose reveals aroma of very new leather, spice, mulberries and violets. The palate delivers a fairly assertive tannin structure, too firm for the fruit level. Flavours of mulberry, plum, liquorice and spice emerge. The dry tannins persist into the aftertaste with truffle, mocha and mulberry characteristics kicking in.
