Heartland wines is the creation of a group of leading South Australian wine industry identities including viticulturistGeoff Hardy and wine maker Ben Glaetzer. The Directors Cut is the flagship wine of Heartland wines produced fromexceptional parcels of Shiraz from their Limestone Coast vineyard. The name “Directors Cut” actually has nothing to dowith movies or a famous film director, instead it refers to the prime cut of shiraz fruit selected from each vintage bythe directors of the company. The “cut” also refers to the practice of pruning back vines to lower yields and obtain the most concentrated fruit flavours.

Tasting Notes: A magnificent red. Totally opaque black purple colour with black purple hue. Superb aroma of vanilla, blackberry and spice, followed by a hint of liquorice. The palate is an explosion of flavour. Volumes of spiced plum, black pepper, vanilla, coconut and marzipan fill the palate, followed by back palate flavours of spice, liquorice allsorts and black pepper. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance, followed by very long aftertaste of white pepper, black pepper, blackberry and plum. VERY LIMITED STOCKS
