2002 Gordon & Macphail The Private Collection Tormore Cote Rotie Wood Finish Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Speyside, Highlands, SCOTLAND
$160. 00
Bottle
$1920.00 Dozen
ABV: 45%
Distilled in 2002 and bottled in 2017, this indie Tormore was finished for 20 months in casks that previously held red wine from Cote Rotie in France's Northern Rhone.

Tasting note... Amber / autumn leaf brown. Subtle aromas of fruit’n’nut chocolate, coconut, red berry and ripe cherry notes too. Lean and mildly tannic on entry. Mid palate is warming, dark chocolate-like followed by hints of dried apricot, hazelnut and semi-ripe berry acidity. Suggestions of fruit chocolate and late Turkish delight in the aftertaste. A dry aperitif style that softens and rounds out significantly with a few drops of water. 45% Alc./Vol. 4000 bottles.

Located in Speyside’s Cromdale Hills in a picturesque spot overlooking the Spey, Tormore offers a fascinating whisky from one of the younger Scottish distilleries. Construction began in 1958 and was completed in 1960, making it the first new distillery to be built in the country in the 20th century. The house style tends to be fruity (tropical fruit) and fresh.
