This is an excellent example of a ripe Cabernet. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Superb nose of violets, spice and blackcurrant. The palate flavours are impressive, displaying plenty of ripe Cabernet flavours with blackcurrant, spice and liquorice to the fore. Fine grained tannins, perfectly balanced, with aftertaste of liquorice, dark chocolate and blackcurrant.

James Halliday - Australian Wine Companion 2006

A superb effort, the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa possesses a dense ruby/purple color, a subtle notion of spicy American oak in its sweet aromas of creme de cassis, chocolate, vanilla, and spice box, superb texture, full body, and a chewy, corpulent mouthfeel. Enjoy this heady Cabernet over the next 5-8 years.
