A very crisp herbaceous Sauvignon Blanc. Bright, pale straw colour. The nose is quite grassy, with top notes of confectionary and grapefruit followed by a herbaceous and unripe gooseberry end note. The nose shows distinct varietal character, but without the power of top New Zealand examples. What we are experiencing here is more subtlety and elegance. The acidity forms a very distinctive component to the structure of this wine. Very crisp and assertive, yet balances very well. Flavours of unripe gooseberry are followed by grassy herbaceous back palate flavours, which run long into the aftertaste. A very dry example.
