D’Arenberg have added more labels to their already extensive portfolio – and each time they add a label, a new story is created. The Derelict Vineyard was apparently just that – an overrun vineyard that had old vines which were overgrown by weeds. The demand for old vine material made the restoration of these Grenache vines commercially viable.
Opaque black purple colour, with deep purple hue. Aroma of spice, liquorice, dark chocolate, raspberry and ripe cherries. The palate has excellent weight, with joosy flavours of spice, plum, raspberry, liquorice and vanilla. Fine dry tannins which run long into the aftertaste. Long aftertaste of spice, liquorice, white pepper, vanilla and raspberry.
