2002 Coldstream Hills Pinot Noir

Bright brick red colour with crimson hue. The nose has a distinct stalky top note which is followed through to the rest of the wine and is followed by notes of spice, troncais oak, dark cherry, anise and finally a hint of California Poppy. Mouthfilling palate flavours with dark cherry, spice and troncais oak persisting over a stalky background. Fine greyish tannins, but balanced, followed by a very long spicy stalk and oak aftertaste.
