An exceptional example of Grenache and along with the Romas Grenache, one would have to say that the pair are a perfect expression of the variety. The wine has a remarkable concentration of flavour that appears to be a consistent quality of the vineyard. The fruit is riper than the previous two Grenache wines in the line up and yet with perfect pH ensuring a long life ahead.

Tasting Note: Very deep crimson mauve colour. The nose is more aromatic with powerful lift. Notes of blackberry, blackpepper and white pepper hit the nostrils. The palate flavours are explosive. Totally mouthfilling concentrate of plums, liquorice, spice, blackberry and mocca. Exceptional length and depth, with voluptuous mouthfeel. Fine grained tannins, with exceptionally long aftertaste of dark plums, liquorice and white pepper.

Robert Parker's Review
The expansive, full-bodied 2002 Grenache Old Vines Kangarilla Vineyard offers aromas and flavors of pure kirsch liqueur. With in-your-face levels of fruit and glycerin, an unctuous texture, and a huge finish, it should drink well for 10-15 years.
