Chateau Laurette is located on the ‘wrong’ side of the Garonne River, so that it is not entitled to the Appellation of Sauternes. The vineyard is situated on the right bank of the Garonne, being planed on the South facing escarpment. The vineyard is planted to 2/3 Semillon and 1/3 Sauvignon Blanc. After fermentation in concrete vats the wine is aged in large oak barrels for 2 years.  The use of concrete vats is quite common in France, with the insides being coated with food grade wax.

Brilliant pale gold colour with straw hue. Lifted floral top notes followed by honey, apricot and tropical fruit. Luscious, mouthfilling texture, however, the palate flavour profile is simpler than Sauternes (and so the price is correspondingly less expensive). Moderate palate length. Flavours of honey and caramel emerge over a peach background. Clean finish.
Cellar 3-4 years (2009-2010)
Alc/Vol: 13.5%
