Aged in a combination of French and American oak this Chateauneuf du Pape inspired museum release is evolving brilliantly marrying beautiful sweet fruit with a velvety mouthfeel. Opaque black dark red colour with deep dark red hue. The nose is quite perfumed with lifted scents of dark raspberry, dark chocolate and vanilla followed by a hint of leather and spice. Full bodied the palate delivers lavish flavours of dark raspberry, dark chocolate, plum, vanillin toast and spice. Voluptuous texture with superb depth. Silky smooth perfectly integrated tannins. Long persistent aftertaste of dark raspberry, plum, dark chocolate and spice. Great value given it’s proximity to the current release pricing.
Magnificent drinking now but also capable of a further 2-3 years cellaring (2011-2014).
Alc 14.5%
