2002 Carlei Green Vineyards Shiraz

Totally opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Aroma of vanilla, blackcurrant and spice followed by liquorice and blood plum. On the palate, flavours of vanilla, plum and stewed fruit emerge, followed by a hint of plum and mint. Fine, dry chalky tannins which persist followed by an aftertaste of mint, vanilla, liquorice and mocha.

First tasted, July 2004:
The Shiraz grapes were grown in the Upper Goulburn Valley. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Aroma of spice, plum and liquorice. The palate displays moderate length, with flavours of plum, spice, stewed fruit and vanilla evident. Fine grained tannins, followed by a very spicy aftertaste, with vanilla, white pepper and plum after flavour.
