Winemaker Peter Flewellyn has excelled himself with the Boundary Rider wines. Flewellyn is based in the new multi million dollar winemaking facility at Waurn Ponds, just out of Geelong and has access to quality fruit from several Victorian vineyards. The winery is equipped with everything that opens and shuts but the real success behind these wines remains the quality of the fruit. The entire range is packed with flavour, which is partly due to the great 2002 vintage, together with Flewellyn’s winemaking flair.
The motto of Boundary Rider is ‘In Pursuit of Pleasure’ and that is exactly what is over delivered – lots of pleasure, and at everyday drinking prices.
This is a Shiraz fruit bomb! Totally opaque black purple colour. Lifted nose, with aromas of plum, earth and spice followed by an end note of truffle and earth. Rich mouth filling palate, with flavours of liquorice, spice, dark chocolate and black pepper emerging. Fine grained tannin structure, followed by a warm spicy aftertaste.
Cellar 2-3 years (2004-2005)
Alc/Vol 14%
