The Zarephath Vineyard is run by the Benedictine Community, by a group of Christians referred to as The Christ Circle. The name Zarephath is taken from Hebrew, meaning ‘refinement’.
Deep crimson colour with mauve hue. Medium body. The nose is impressive, showing good varietal character. Aroma of cherry and spice followed by a hint of smoky oak. Full bodied palate, with flavours of spice, anise, black cherry and toast emerging followed by a back palate flavour of strawberry jam. Very good length with impressive power wave and long aftertaste of spice, liquorice, toast and cherries.
