Some parcels of fruit for the 2001 Yarra Ridge Pinot Noir were cold soaked to extract the maximum colour and flavour. Fermentation followed with small parcels completing fermentation in French oak then all parcels underwent malolactic fermentation to soften any harsh acids. Each vineyard parcel was kept separate in the winemaking process then reviewed prior to blending. The wine was matured in a combination of new and seasoned French oak for 10 months.

The 2001 Yarra Ridge Pinot Noir is a bright deep cherry in colour with intense black cherry, raspberry and spicy aromas. The palate is well structured with varietal fruit flavours of sweet cherry, briary fruit and subtle spice combining with aromatic herbal influences. These flavours combined with a backbone of subtle oak and silky tannin offer a generous mouthfeel and a lingering finish.
