2001 Yarra Ridge Chardonnay

Numerous winemaking techniques have been used in making this wine, including barrel fermentation, lees stirring and solids fermentation. A portion of this wine underwent malolactic fermentation to add further complexity and build upon the intense fruit flavours. Maturation was in French and American oak barrels for up to 8 months.

The 2001 Yarra Ridge Chardonnay is a brilliant pale straw colour with a lifted bouquet of classic peach and nectarine characters. The palate has a creamy texture with flavours of peach and citrus supported by subtle oak. This medium bodied wine has a fresh, well rounded mouthfeel with balanced natural acid.
