2001 Yangarra Park Cabernet Sauvignon

Yangarra Park is the Australian winemaking arm of one of California’s most successful brands, Kendall Jackson. Their principal Australian vineyards are in McLaren Vale although the company sources fruit from a much wider area. Very deep crimson, mauve colour, with mauve hue. The nose displays very strong varietal definition with distinct aroma of cedar, blackcurrant, spice and violets. The palate also reflects the strong varietal character with distinct blackcurrant flavours over a layer of plum and stoned fruit. Moderate length. Fine, firmish tannins followed by an aftertaste of blackcurrant, stewed fruit and plum with the dry tannins persisting.
