Other Reviews….
The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz The Reserve (a blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Shiraz aged 20 months in 70% new French hogsheads and 30% in neutral French wood) boasts superb intensity, richness, body, and power. Smoky, truffle-like aromas intermixed with blackberries, cassis, burning embers, charcoal, and licorice soar from the glass of this opaque purple-colored, full-throttle, meaty, super-rich and concentrated wine. Superbly well-balanced, it is a candidate for 20-30 years of aging.
