Notes sourced from Beringer Blass

The fruit was sourced from selected South Eastern Australian vineyards and was harvested when reflecting true varietal flavour. The grapes were machine harvested at night to take advantage of optimum fruit temperatures.
The different grape varieties were pressed separately. The Chardonnay component was fermented in French and American oak. Following three months oak maturation, Wendy Stuckey blended the Chardonnay with the Semillon component to produce this wonderfully refreshing balanced wine.
This 2001 vintage is a careful blend of Chardonnay and Semillon. The wine has vibrant citrus lemon and light grass on the nose with a hint of vanilla. The Chardonnay provides a rich and full palate balanced by the citrus characters of the Semillon. Oak maturation and barrel fermentation have added further complexity the wine, creating harmony with the rich fruit flavours.
Cellaring: The wine, while lovely in its youth, will benefit from 2-3 years careful bottle maturation.
