An excellent example of Cabernet. Made from a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Merlot. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. The nose is very distinctive with its obvious Cabernet top note. Aroma of blackcurrant, spice, liquorice, mocca and cedar emerge. The palate flavours are generous with blackcurrant and mocca flavours dominant followed by dark chocolate. Fine dry tannins which persist onto the aftertaste followed by long blackcurrant and mocca characteristics.
Cellar 3-4 years (2006-2007)
Alc/Vol: 14.0%

First tasted:
This wine has been matured for 18 months in French oak. The wine is very smoky on the nose – a characteristic that runs throughout the entire wine. Black crimson colour with dark crimson hue. Toasted oak top note followed by hints of cedar, blackcurrant and cigar box. The palate is generous with plenty of toasted oak character again. Mocca, toasted oak, cigar box flavours are all present. Very good length with fine dry tannins followed by aftertaste of liquorice, dark chocolate, toasted oak and spice.
