Sorrenberg is a tiny vineyard which consists of approx 2.4 hectare of vines which were planted in 1986. Winemaker Barry Morey has always been good mates with neighbouring winemaker Rick Kinzbrunner of Giaconda Vineyard so it’s hardly surprising that the wines have a sense of similarity. Deep straw colour, with pale gold hue. The nose is subtle, with aromas of biscuit, citrus and lees. The palate displays complex layers of biscuit, hazelnut and yeast lees over a background of smoky almonds and honeycomb. Excellent length and complexity. Crisp acid finish, followed by a long aftertaste of yeast lees, honeycomb, cashews and biscuit.
