The Pertaringa wines are produced by viticulturist GEOFF HARDY (pictured left), who is based in the Adelaide Hills and the youngest brother of the 5th generation Hardys boys. Geoff is regarded as one of Australia’s top viticulturists and his knowledge of viticulture and vines is legendary. We recently accompanied him on a trip to Victoria’s Heathcote district (he was comparing notes) and took him on a tour of several of the regions top vineyards. Amazingly, he was able to identify a number of foreign vines in a Shiraz vineyard from the roadside, which included Merlot and Grenache. (Perhaps they’re the secret behind Heathcote’s success?)

Tasting Notes: Very deep crimson colour with crimson hue. The nose is still evolving but delivers notes of liquorice, toasted oak and spice. Excellent palate weight with distinct blackpepper, plum and spice flavours emerging. Fine dry and perfectly balanced tannins followed by a long blackpepper and spice aftertaste.
