This is the best Specialized to date!
This is the fourth release of Specialized and in our opinion the best to date. The component parts are blended more or less in equal proportions. The Shiraz component is sourced from the East West facing rows of the Penny’s Hill Vineyard, being slightly cooler and adding the spicy black pepper quality to the wine. The Cabernet is from a 5 acre planting of 10 year old vines at Penny’s Hill, whereas the Merlot component is sourced from the Goss Corner Vineyard. The perfect ripening conditions in autumn ensured that all varieties of grapes developed their maximum flavour profiles.

Tasting Note: Totally opaque, black colour with deep crimson hue. Superb lifted nose of confectionary, violets and spice followed by end notes of vanilla and nutmeg. The palate is mouthfilling with outstanding depth and concentration. Excellent weight with flavours of blackpepper, spice, blackcurrant and liquorice allsorts emerging. The backpalate is very spicy – perfectly balanced followed by an exceptionally long aftertaste of blackpepper and blackcurrant.
