2001 Mountadam The Red Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

Very deep crimson colour with deep brick red hue. Aroma of tea leaf, cedar and blackcurrant followed by a hint of cigar box. The palate does not excite. Flavours of cedar, blackcurrant and cigar box are followed by menacing tea leaf flavours. Dry chalky tannins. Aftertaste of spice, tea leaf and blackcurrant.

First tasted, April 2004:
Very deep crimson colour with brick red hue. Aroma of spice and blackcurrant, followed by a touch of cedar, plum and leaf. The palate is dominated by very fine dry tannins which persist well into the aftertaste. Flavours of stewed plum, blackcurrant and cedar emerge.
