Date Tasted 11/03/2003: Opaque crimson purple colour. Excellent nose with top note of violets, liquorice allsorts, plum and spice with a hint of leather. The palate is generous and full bodied. Flavours of liquorice and plum emerge followed by a hint of mocca over a bitter chocolate background. Fine dry tannins with very long mocca, dark chocolate aftertaste.

Other Reviews....
Readers should be aware that the Kay Brothers produced a Shiraz Hillside that is aged in 100% new American oak and made from relatively young vines that are the same clone as the Shiraz planted in Block 6. It is very much made in the style of the Block 6, it just does not have the old vines and single block acclaim.
