An impressive red. Very deep crimson colour with deep crimson hue. Superb nose of spice, dark chocolate, vanilla and blackcurrant followed by a truffle end note. The palate displays excellent concentration and strong varietal flavour, which shows more depth than the 2001 Shiraz (which is surprising!). Flavours of blackpepper merge with blackcurrant and spice. The tannins are fine grained and dry but necessary to support the fruit, followed by a very long aftertaste.
