This wine has been produced from 27 year old low yielding vines, grown around the Mount Barker region of Western Australia. Crimson colour with brick red hue. Medium body. Aroma of spice, cedar and blackcurrant with a confectionary end note. The palate structure is relatively light with flavours of blackcurrant, liquorice and stewed fruit, followed by a hint of leafiness. The wine needs time to fill out. Dry firmish tannins followed by a leafy blackcurrant plum spice aftertaste.
