Winemaker LARRY CHERUBINO has sourced the grapes from Mt. Barker (70%) and Ferguson Valley, which are regarded as being amongst Western Australia’s coolest wine growing regions. The name Crofters is derived from Dr John Ferguson’s original farmhouse and stables which he built in 1863. Modelled on the Scottish Croft design, the restored homestead is today Houghton’s Western Australian headquarters.

"An outstanding Crofters Shiraz"

Opaque black crimson colour with intense mauve purple hue. Superb lifted nose of spice, toasted oak, vanilla, liquorice and dark chocolate. Mouthfilling palate – explosive flavours of blackpepper and spice over a background of toasted vanilla oak, blackberry and plum. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance, followed by a very long blackpepper, plum and spice aftertaste.
