2001 Happs Merlot

Bright crimson colour with crimson hue. Medium body. The nose displays impressive varietal character with notes of mulberry, truffle, spice and cedar emerging. The palate is quite dry, displaying chalky tannins that are too assertive. There are some tea leaf flavours followed by stewed fruit. The dry chalky tannins persist.
