2001 Grosset Watervale Riesling

This is certainly a year in which you should buy the Grosset Watervale and enjoy it while you wait for the Polish Hill. The 2001 Grosset Watervale Riesling continues to show the improvement of the past few years but is clearly more approachable than its illustrious companion. It is quite restained on the nose with some tropical and lime and lemon citrus aromas, is vibrant, fresh and lively, has delicious lime juice flavours with some minerally notes and racy acidity on a crisp, dry finish. The Watervale's power and concentration is balanced by its juicy, fleshy texture which give it immediate appeal. It does, however, clearly have potential to improve with careful cellaring.
