2001 Giant Steps Chardonnay

The Sextons, having sold Devils Lair to Southcorp, have moved camp and established a new vineyard in the Yarra Valley. Bright straw colour. The nose is outstanding showing considerable complexity. Distinct aroma of toasted oak, hazelnut, smoked almonds and biscuit. The palate does not disappoint, and continues to enhance the complexity of the wine. Layers of biscuit, cashews and smoked almonds. This wine is all about secondary fruit flavour. Excellent length and depth. Clean acid finish, followed by a long smoky lees and biscuit aftertaste.
