2001 Gemtree Vineyards Tatty Road Dry Red

A beautiful McLaren Vale Red. The Buttery family are very professional growers and with each vintage the wines are gaining depth and character. It’s a real pleasure to drink this wine. Made from a blend of Cabernet Merlot, Petit Verdot and Shiraz, the wine has a very deep black, crimson colour with a deep crimson mauve hue. The nose is pronounced with perfumed aroma of vanilla, spice and liquorice. Mouth filling palate with flavours of plum, liquorice, blackpepper and vanilla. The flavour profile is concentrated and displays a fullness of style that McLaren Vale winemakers refer to as "joosy". Excellent length and depth. Velvet smooth tannins, followed by a very long aftertaste of vanilla, spice, plum and blackpepper.
