2001 Dutschke Oscar Semmler Shiraz

The Oscar Semmler blend represents Wayne Dutschke’s finest wine. Each vintage the best barrels are selected – in 2001 16 barrels produced a mere 550 dozen bottles. The grapes are sourced from Ken Semmler’s Lyndoch Vineyard which was planted in 1975.

This is an outstanding wine. Opaque black crimson colour with mauve hue. Superb nose, filled with aroma of violets, spice and blackberry. Mouthfilling palate, explosive, with layers of ripe plum, liquorice and blackpepper. Velvet tannins, fine dry, followed by very long aftertaste of dark chocolate, liquorice and spice.
