A great choice for the whisky buff who thinks they've tried them all!
We have a handful of bottles out of 367 charged from a sherry butt (No. 12117). Distilled in 2001 and bottled non chill filtered in 2017 at 48.4% which the Laings describe as "Full of sweet juicy barley with honeycombe and firm malt".

Jim Murray gave a sister cask a strong review, describing it as "Really lovely stuff", 90 points so expect more of the same here.

Meanwhile, Serge Valentin from whiskyfun.com said of another Douglas Laing Braeval of the same ilk: "It’s not a very complex malt but the maltiness is just perfect. Finish: rather long, rather more citrusy. Comments: this solid Speysider reminded me a bit of Mortlach at some point."
