2001 Del Rios Marsanne

An outstanding wine with loads of body weight and flavour. The wine has been partially fermented in old oak. Bright straw colour. Lifted nose of spice and honeysuckle, followed by a hint of lychee and musk, which given time will gain considerable complexity. The palate flavours are mouthfilling but there is a touch of coarseness on the back palate. There is a hint of orange over a layer of honeysuckle, spice and musk. A big palate, with excellent length and persistence. Clean acid finish, followed by a very long spicy aftertaste.
