Turbo is as it sounds, a phenomenon for the total indulgence of the senses. Inspired by Roman’s love of the exotic, and in particular turbo charged Porsches of which he has one and another one on order (bright yellow we believe). This wine is what would normally be regarded as a Vintage Port, but these days you can’t say that for fear of offending our Portuguese brothers. Made from super ripe 80 year old Syrah, the wine has spent 9 months maturing in French oak barriques. The alcohol reading is 20.5%, which is a textbook replica of the real thing, however Turbo is from Australia.

Tasting Note: Totally black purple colour. Remarkable nose of spice, intense blackberries and liquorice followed by heady notes of a very fine XO Cognac – in fact this wine is a concentrate of blackberry infused in Cognac and will take decades to fully integrate. The fine brandy spirit producers a very refined warm and powerful backbone, which is enhanced by a very spicy blackpepper and blackberry liquorice flavour, with just a hint of almond. The palate structure is still tight, with firm dry, perfectly structured tannins. This is one for the long haul. Remarkable length.
