2001 Chateau Filhot 2er Cru Sauternes (375ml)

This wine is evolving very well.  Brilliant gold colour with pale gold hue.Lifted nose, with floral top notes followed by tropical fruit, apricot, honey and spice.  Powerful palate flavours with outstanding length.  Flavours of lemon and honey emerge, displaying the sort of refinement and elegance associated with wines from the adjoining commune of Barsac.  Long honey, lemon aftertaste.

Pineapple, citrus, sealing wax, and spice notes are noticeable in the aromatics and flavors of this finesse-styled, moderately sweet Sauternes. Elegant, with lively purity, medium body, and a reasonably long finish, it can be drunk now and over the next 9-10 years.
