A big tight Pinot that will blossom over the next 4-5 years. Very deep brick red colour with deep brick red hue. The nose displays strong varietal character. The palate has good varietal flavour and a distinctive power wave that will gain strength with time. Flavours of cherry and spice with a touch of strawberry jam and strong maraschino cherry background. Fine dry tannins, followed by a strong maraschino cherry and spice aftertaste.

First Tasted:- December 2002
An interesting Pinot, which shows strong varietal character, but falls short of being a great wine. Very deep crimson colour. The nose is quite strong with notes of spice and stewed fruit, hint of anise, dark cherry and plum, with just a trace of stalk. On the palate flavours of spice and dark cherry, with a liquorice and spice background. There is a moderate power wave. Good length and persistence, with slightly firmish dry tannins which persist into the aftertaste.
