$539.88 Dozen
Closure: Cork

An exotic wine which has always been difficult to get hold of as production is tiny. Zinfandel is widely planted in California and was until recently thought to have been introduced from Hungary by Californian viticultural pioneer Agoston Haraszthy. However, recent DNA fingerprinting has identified the variety as being the Italian grape PRIMITIVO. An excellent peppery example from vines planted in 1972.

Tasting Notes: Opaque black crimson colour with black crimson hue. Aroma of spice, violets, confectionary, followed by dusty liquorice and vanilla end notes. Mouthfilling palate with flavours of ripe plum and spice intermeshed with very distinctive white pepper and black pepper palate, followed by a liquorice layer. Dry, but well balanced with very long aftertaste of white pepper and plum. Very Limited Stocks.
