- ABV 14.5%
- Closure: Cork
The wine seems to be developing faster than one would expect, showing crimson brick red colour with brick red hue. Perfumed lift on the nose, with aroma of cedar, stewed fruit, plum and confectionary. The palate flavours reflect the wines colour and show that the wine is developing well. The classical Durif intenseness has gone. Flavours of plum, spice, vanilla and confectionary are evident and are followed by an emerging leather flavour. Soft tannins. Aftertaste of new leather, stewed fruit, confectionary and cedar.
Cellar 1-2 years (2006-2007)
First tasted, September 2003:
Brick red colour with brick red hue. Medium body. The nose is quite developed, with a confectionary top note followed by stewed fruit, leather and cedar. The palate displays riper fruit flavours with very ripe plum, stewed fruit and leather emerging. The tannins are very soft for a Durif wine, without the expected smack in the mouth. Aftertaste of stewed fruit, spice, leather and confectionary.
Second tasting, November 2004:
Brick red colour with brick red hue, showing signs of early development. The nose confirms the developed character of the wine, with aroma of stewed fruit, leather, cedar and spice. The palate displays flavours of stewed fruit, spice, white pepper and leather. Fine, dry chalky tannins, which persist well into the aftertaste. Aftertaste of stewed fruit, spice, white pepper and leather.
